Q: What do you think of my song?
hey guys, I've written about 15 or 16 songs and this is my most recent (written today) and possibly the roughest (lyrically). please tell me what you think! "Alone" Grow my beard when I'm all alone People aren't half of what they ever show Crucify me when I think club me and drug me until I wake to find I look just like you my beard is gone I'm all alone This is my Declaration so take it as you will a suicide note or just some teen trying so hard to be obscene but just another teenage Jonas confused about who he is life in the black bag ain't all it's cracked up to be my jail cell tells me when I'm all alone I'm me I grow my beard and call my friends It's all good you'll hate them too Mr.President don't understand he'd send us all to war if he can I ain't social neither is my man not like all of you swimming in the nose-bleed rag up in the air I'll make my stand I won't be alone You'll all see I'm not so alone There are more from where I came from the land where we think to the bass guitar strum not this hollow pounding drum where I'm all alone it would be a rock song. my major influences include nirvana, green day, weezer, the beatles, led zeppelin, the rolling stones, bob dylan, sublime, the foo fighters, the red hot chili peppers and the black keys. i also have latin and blues influences and it took me about 5 minutes to write =) about the chorus and verses, i usually indicate where they are but this time i wasn't in that mindset. It's supposed to be kinda messy.

A: Oh...my...mother farming...God... this is an epic rock song. and i mean that very much. everything is original, like right when you think you understand the song, something is thrown in to keep you on your toes. very well done. i bet it will be awesome when you put music to it, if you do.

A: You got some pretty good songs there that I would be interested in playing just to see how hard they are. These are a great start keep it up.

Q: Song ideas for a pantomime?
I'm in drama club at school, and I got put in the pantomime section of the play. My group has to perform two skits. I don't know what music I should use for our first skit. It's a comedy about a guy cheating on two girls, and the girls start fighting. I want a song that's upbeat and preferably rock since it is a comedy, and it probably needs to be atleast three minutes long. I really like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I would love to use one of their songs. All the songs I can think of by them are kind of slow though. I would appreciate any ideas.

A: Opera is good drama

Q: Which band name do you prefer?
I'm a sucker for amusing band names. Which, out of these, do you like best? (regardless of musical quality) (I'm also really freaking bored) Arctic Monkeys Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin Does It Offend You Yeah Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Be Your Own Pet Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears Fountains of Wayne Bowling for Soup Get Him Eat Him Gogol Bordello Logan Whitehurst & the Junior Science Club They Might Be Giants Me First and the Gimme Gimmes the Moldy Peaches Neutral Milk Hotel the Presidents of the United States of America Red Hot Chili Peppers the Pigeon Detectives We Are Scientists All pretty good bands, by the by.

A: Arctic Monkeys,Be Your Own Pet,Fountains of Wayne,Bowling for Soup,Get Him Eat Him,Neutral Milk Hotel,The Pigeon Detectives, and We are Scientists. I like all of those. And by the by, I love that expression...no one I know uses it and when I say or write....oh,by the by....people look at me very funny. Why is that? Anyway, have a great day!

Q: The Catcher in the Rye?
For my English project I have to find a song that relates to a theme in the book and I chose isolation. I was thinking about using Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, since Holden feels so lonely and misunderstood and then he goes to New York by himself and through his perspective, he makes the city sound very empty and lonely like everywhere he goes such as the bars and clubs, make him more depressed and make him feel empty. But now I'm having second thoughts about if this song would work. Here are the lyrics, what do you think? Or do you have another song suggestion? Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner Sometimes I feel like my only friend Is the city I live in, the city of Angels Lonely as I am, together we cry I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion I walk through her hill 'cause she knows who I am She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy I never worry, now that is a lie Chorus: I don't ever want to feel like I did that day Take me to the place I love take me all the way I don't ever want to feel like I did that day Take me to the place I love take me all the way It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there It's hard to believe that I'm all alone At least I have her love the city she loves me Lonely as I am, together we cry Chorus (Under the bridge downtown) Is where I drew some blood (Under the bridge downtown) I could not get enough (Under the bridge downtown) Forgot about my love (Under the bridge downtown) I gave my life away

A: that song is about loneliness and drugs. holden wasn't on drugs, pick something by john mayer he's depressing

A: It depends, if you are more of a song creator Guitar Hero is suitable for you, Rock Band 2 has not changed much from Rock Band 1, just new interfaces such as Wi Fi networking, in GHWT(Guitar hero world tour) you can make people now! So personally I would go with GHWT.

Q: Is it me or are Chileans and Uruguayans different from the rest of Latin America?
When I visited Chile and Uruguay I noticed they were different than the rest of Latin America. They didn't go out to clubs a lot, it was more about bars, lounges, and pubs. The cities were not as festive as the ones in Brazil, Mexico or Colombia. The people were interested in things likes science, economics and politics. Most of the college students I met were studying engineering or economics. The most festive people I met in Chile were the Peruvian immigrants! The town in Southern Chile looked like little Swiss towns. I mean the country did not have that Latin flavor at all. The closest I got to Latin was with immigrants from other Latin countries or the youth who listened to a bit regaeton. Most of the musical acts sounded funky like Red Hot Chili Peppers or British like Artic Monkeys. The style in Chile is more London-esque. It's weird. There was hardly any salsa music, a little cumbia but not much like its neighboring nations. Your thoughts.

A: Uruguay, Chile, and Argentina, the Southern Cone, are demographically different from most of Latin America. The population is mostly of European ancestry. The Indians were killed off rather quickly, and there were only a few slaves. Historically, they've been the most prosperous of Latin American countries. As such they attracted large numbers of European immigrants, who brought their own culture. What we think of as Latino culture is mix of Spanish and Indian cultures. The Swiss looking towns you saw were probably inhabited by Swiss or German immigrants and their descendants.

Q: Can you list all of the music artists you have seen live? Do you prefer big venues, or small, intimate clubs?
I will list all the bands I have seen that are fairly well-known: Eric Clapton (twice) U2 James Brown Pearl Jam Soundgarden Red Hot Chili Peppers Lenny Kravitz John Fogerty Ministry KISS Ted Nugent The Tragically Hip (5 times) Jeff Healey Band Bonnie Raitt Public Enemy Chris Whitley Toad The Wet Sprocket Marillion Alice In Chains Eric Bibb The Robert Cray Band Jackson Browne Wilson Pickett Lee Aaron (thrice) Helix Kim Mitchell Arc Angels Tom Cochrane Streetheart I like going to see live bands in a small venue the most.... and as I get a bit older I am becoming more and more interested in live jazz, of which I have seen the most... I also like supporting local, independent acts that are not well-known enough to mention here. I just remembered I saw Steve Earle perform as well... at a summer folk festival.

A: I loved the classic rock suggestions on there, and you even had Ray Charles!! Bob Marley, the stones, nirvana, The beatles, Sublime, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, RHCP, Steve Miller band, and some of those songs you had on there, I don't even typically LIKE the band, but only one song and it would be the one you had on there, weird. I don't know what kind of party it is, hopefully no one is going to be offended by Caress me Down though. Some of the music on there really sucked though, but a lot of it was REALLY good music.
